NOTD: Light Green

I decided to paint my nails today with the nail polish I purchased a few weeks ago and though I’d share!

This is Essie’s “Navigate Her” from the Navigate Her Spring 2012 Collection. It’s a pretty light green color but with a twist! Instead of a pastel green, it reminds me more of a pistachio green color. Two coats was enough for me to get the color to be opaque.

What do you think of Navigate Her (the polish and collection)? Do you own this polish or want to buy it? What’s currently on your nails? Tell me in the comments!

Nail of the Day!

After a hectic and stressful week at work, I decided to give myself a little spa treatment today and paint my nails! Here is the finished product:

On my nails: China Glaze’s “Peachy Keen”

I absolutely love coral for summer, because it’s so bright and fun and adds a little something extra to anything you’re wearing. It also goes well with pretty much any color! (I actually love coral any time of the year. It’s one of my all-time favorite colors). So what are your go-to polishes for the summertime? Let me know in comments below!

Quick How To: Curl Your Eyelashes

Curling your eyelashes is an easy technique that you can use before applying your mascara to make your eyes appear more awake and to give your eyes or makeup look a flirty touch. This technique also enhances and thickens your eyelashes without the difficulties of applying false lashes. It may seem like an intimidating task at first, but after some practice, you will be able to upgrade your eye look in no time.

Things you’ll need:

  • An eyelash curler
  • A spooly brush (optional)

Instructions

  1. Sit up straight and look straight ahead. This will help you to place the eyelash curler correctly on the lashes.
  2. Open up your eyelash curler and position it at the base of your lashes.
  3. Gently clamp the eyelash curler down for 3 seconds.
  4. Open the curler and move it up to the middle of your lashes.
  5. Gently clamp the eyelash curler down for 3 seconds.
  6. Open the curler and move it up towards to the tip of your lashes.
  7. Gently clamp the eyelash curler down for another 3 seconds.
  8. Repeat steps 1-7 on the other eye.
  9. If you want to make your lashes appear even thicker, take a spooly brush and comb through the lashes, starting at the base and working your way up to the tips of the lashes.

Warnings:

  • Be careful to not clamp the eyelash curler down on the skin of your eyelid.
  • Try not to blink too hard while the curler is clamped onto your lashes.
