I decided to paint my nails today with the nail polish I purchased a few weeks ago and though I’d share!
This is Essie’s “Navigate Her” from the Navigate Her Spring 2012 Collection. It’s a pretty light green color but with a twist! Instead of a pastel green, it reminds me more of a pistachio green color. Two coats was enough for me to get the color to be opaque.
What do you think of Navigate Her (the polish and collection)? Do you own this polish or want to buy it? What’s currently on your nails? Tell me in the comments!
Hello everyone! I know it’s been a while since I’ve updated my blog, but I’ve been super busy. With that said, one reason I haven’t been on here lately is because I just came back from a week-long trip in Las Vegas, Nevada! It was definitely an experience. It was also extremely hot! Haha. If you want me to do a post on anything Vegas-related, please leave your suggestions in the comments below.
Anywho, my trip inspired me to do a travel series. Basically, I want to give you guys advice on traveling, whether it is fashion tips, beauty tips, or just general/basic traveling tips. I hope everyone likes it! For my first post, I want to suggest some good items to pack in your carry-on bag if you are flying to your trip destination. Of course, this list could vary from person to person because everyone has different preferences, but I tried to make this as general as possible based on my flying experience. Alright well, let’s get into it!
Boarding pass/any other important papers or tickets. If your attending a show, program, or anything like that be sure to bring them. You’ll need these! Don’t forget them.
A change of clothes and important toiletry items. Important toiletry items might include (but is not limited to) toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, contacts/solution, brush/comb, and face wash and moisturizer. This is for just in case your checked luggage somehow ends up going missing.
Valuable items. This might be jewelry or even something electronic that you own like your camera (or anything mentioned in number 5). These are things that are probably important to you so to prevent these things from going missing or someone stealing them, keep them with you.
Medications. If you take any prescribed medication, make sure to have it with you!
Something for entertainment. Whether it is a book, magazine, your cellphone, your iPod/iPad, or your laptop, bring something to entertain you especially if you will be traveling for a longer period of time.
Gum. When you’re on a plane, you climb (and descend) high altitude levels. This causes your ears to experience a popping sensation. Swallowing helps to alleviate this but chewing gum during take-off and landing is an easy way to not be bothered by this slight annoyance.
A Sweater, Cardigan, or Jacket. It does get cold on the place sometimes! It definitely does not hurt to bring a light sweater, cardigan or jacket just in case!
Baby or makeup wipes. You might need to freshen up after your flight and baby or makeup wipes will do just the trick!
A Couple of Your Favorite Makeup Items. I don’t like wearing any makeup at all while on the plane because if I choose to go to sleep at some pint, I don’t want my makeup getting everywhere. I’m suggesting this particularly for after you arrive at your destination to make yourself look presentable, especially if on the off chance that it takes you a while to get to your hotel. I would pack concealer (for those under eye bags if you do sleep), face powder (to even out your skin), mascara (to make you appear more awake), and lip gloss (to add a little something extra to your face).
What are some things you like to pack in your carry-on? Let me know in the comments below!
After a hectic and stressful week at work, I decided to give myself a little spa treatment today and paint my nails! Here is the finished product:
On my nails: China Glaze’s “Peachy Keen”
I absolutely love coral for summer, because it’s so bright and fun and adds a little something extra to anything you’re wearing. It also goes well with pretty much any color! (I actually love coral any time of the year. It’s one of my all-time favorite colors). So what are your go-to polishes for the summertime? Let me know in comments below!
Curling your eyelashes is an easy technique that you can use before applying your mascara to make your eyes appear more awake and to give your eyes or makeup look a flirty touch. This technique also enhances and thickens your eyelashes without the difficulties of applying false lashes. It may seem like an intimidating task at first, but after some practice, you will be able to upgrade your eye look in no time.
Things you’ll need:
An eyelash curler
A spooly brush (optional)
Sit up straight and look straight ahead. This will help you to place the eyelash curler correctly on the lashes.
Open up your eyelash curler and position it at the base of your lashes.
Gently clamp the eyelash curler down for 3 seconds.
Open the curler and move it up to the middle of your lashes.
Gently clamp the eyelash curler down for 3 seconds.
Open the curler and move it up towards to the tip of your lashes.
Gently clamp the eyelash curler down for another 3 seconds.
Repeat steps 1-7 on the other eye.
If you want to make your lashes appear even thicker, take a spooly brush and comb through the lashes, starting at the base and working your way up to the tips of the lashes.
Be careful to not clamp the eyelash curler down on the skin of your eyelid.
Try not to blink too hard while the curler is clamped onto your lashes.

Hello there and welcome to my new blog – Everyday Classy!
My name is Mariah, and I have decided to start my very own style blog because I find myself browsing through fashion/beauty websites on a daily basis and have found a great interest in anything style-related. I love learning new ways to create outfits, accessorize, and apply makeup. Anything involving shoes, clothes, makeup, designer labels, and handbags has my heart. In my free time, you can find me window shopping online. (Some of my friends think I have a problem).
What I hope to accomplish from my blog is to provide advice to fashion and beauty-conscious young people. Since I am also a college student, my funds to support my love of fashion are sort of, well…low. This is why I hope to help those who are just like me and focus on giving style tips and ideas for less. But I don’t want to stop there! Every now and then, I’ll also post helpful tips on everyday life, ranging from interview techniques to healthy eating habits. After all, looking the part isn’t the only ingredient to feeling great and living a successful, enjoyable life!
As I work on my blog over the next few months, if you have any suggestions on posts that I could do, please leave them in the comments below!
